#4 Brown Spots
Melanin (also known as pigment) is our bodies’ natural form of sunscreen and is produced by cells called melanocytes. When melanocytes absorb ultraviolet light, they create melanin. This creation of pigment can multiply into an effect called hyperpigmentation. These spots can make you look like a dalmatian. You don't want your skin to look like a dalmatian, do you? Wear your sunscreen.
The #1 reason for wrinkles. The sun. The suns’ rays are a form of radiation that is absorbed by our skin. When these rays hit the skin, it creates damage in the form of free radicals, which are damaged molecules. These free radicals can damage other cells, starting a domino effect of skin damage. This process can accelerate skin laxity and form creases or wrinkles in our skin. Want less wrinkles? Wear your sunscreen.
#2 Sagging Skin
Ever seen someone's face look like the leather pants you wore to the club last night? People who stay in the sun too long accelerate skin laxity. This occurs by creating too much damage to the collagen and elastin fibers in your skin. You don't want to look like that girl at the club, do you? Wear your sunsceen.
Yes, it is as scary as it sounds. No one likes the C word. There are over 3 million cases of Actinic Keratosis (which are pre-cancerous patches of skin) per year, in the US alone. If left unchecked AK’s can develop into skin cancer. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, one person dies of Melanoma every 54 minutes. Wear your sunscreen!
Hopefully, after reading this, you will wear more sunscreen. It just might save your life...and save you from looking like leather pant face.
