Retinol: The Real Story
Posted by Tanya Jacobson on
RETINOL IS ALL THE RAGE
Without doubt, retinol is one of the glowing love stories of our time. Who hasn’t heard about it, wondered about it, read about it, or desperately wanted to try this age-busting, prune- face staving beauty wonder. Let’s start with a learn-about-it part. Simply put, retinol is a type of retinoid — an umbrella term that encompasses any skincare ingredient derived from vitamin A, a vitamin found in foods like carrots, eggs and sweet potatoes. (Forget dreams of carrot cake and sweet potato pie making you look younger.) Tretinoin, under the brand name Retin-A, was the first retinoid that was used as an acne treatment in the 1970 ’s, but was later found to do so much more. But you need a prescription to get it. Does that mean running to a dermatologist and paying a derm’s often hefty fees? Lucky you, no. There are products with retinol that can do the job for a lot less. (Go ahead, you can do a happy dance now.)

Skincare for Men; Everything You Never Knew About It

SKINCARE FOR MEN; IT’S TRENDING, BUT HAVE YOU TRIED IT?
OK, guys, admit it; who of you hasn’t leaned into the mirror, looked side to side and thought “What the…is going on here?” The concept of skincare has rarely entered their minds, and never, their bathroom cabinets. Skincare for men? They just have trouble breaching that wall. But the notion that men shouldn’t be using skin-care products has actually been receding faster than most hairlines. A downturn in shaving has caused men to start paying more attention to the health of their skin. As razor sales are being sliced, investment in skincare is skyrocketing. Research company Statista pegs the estimated size of the global male grooming market to be worth about US$ 29.14 billion by 2024.
Reflect Personalized Skincare for Men is right on top of it.

Ooo…there it is…overnight, a hideous eruption has taken up residence on your face. The very first thing you want to do is zap it with the latest acne treatment. It’s not fun, and seeing people so smug in their acne-free skin only makes it worse. For some of you, sometimes it’s not just the occasional pimple or two, but it can get so severe, your face looks like the terrain on some distant planet. “Why me?” you lament. Well you’re not alone. Acne is one of the most common skin conditions in the world, affecting an estimated 85% of people at some point in their lives.
At Reflect Personalized Skin Care we get it.

Reflect Personalized Skincare for Anti-Aging. It Doesn't Get More Personal.

Aging skin is a personal drama for each of us as we notice changes we’re a lot less than merry and bright about. Our genes largely control when these changes occur. The medical term for this type of aging is “intrinsic aging.” Not to be a Grinch, but there’s not a thing we can do about it. We can influence another type of aging that affects our skin. Our environment and lifestyle choices can also cause our skin to age prematurely. The medical term for this type of aging is “extrinsic aging.” So what can be done about it?

Personalized Skin Care; Changing the Face of Skin Care Forever
Posted by Tanya Jacobson on
Women and men of all ages have been on an endless journey, fruitlessly trying to find skincare that will finally care for their various and vastly different skin conditions. It seems every day there’s an onslaught of options trying to seduce them. According to Statista, a leading provider of market and consumer data, the global skin care market is projected to increase from 134.5 billion dollars in 2018 to over 180 billion by 2024. Whoa, would be understatement.
EVERYONE’S GOT SOMETHING
Throughout your life, your skin changes. It changes as you age. As your lifestyle changes. It’s can even change at the whim of the weather. Enough to make you want to hide your head in the sand. (Which, by the way, ostriches don’t--they’d suffocate.) You could have one skin condition. You could have several.
