Summer Skincare Checklist

“Summer is always the best of what might be.”

It's a good thing my New Year's Resolution was to get my body prepared for summer.  Wait.  That lasted 2 weeks.  Or was that my 2014 resolution?  Don't worry, if you are in the same boat, we have some suggestions for you.

Laser hair removal

Full, luscious locks on the head. Good.  Full, luscious locks elsewhere. Bad. It’s never too late to get rid of that hair.  Plus, let's be honest.  In the winter, we're lucky to shave once a week.  "No one is going to see my legs in my baggy sweatpants!" If this is you, it might be time to visit your favorite Dermatologist or Medical Spa to get that bikini line taken care of.

Skin care regimen

Now that summer is here, it’s time to start adding antioxidants, moisturizers and sunscreens to your regimen. Granted, it can be a daunting process to figure out what to do and where to go. If you need help on it, we know some people who know people, click here.

Get a spray tan

Remember our scary post about tanning beds.  This is your alternative. If you haven’t spray tanned before or if it's been awhile, it it’s time to check it out.  There are a lot of new, great options so you don't have to look like an Oompa Loompa. One session usually costs $25-75 and takes approximately 20-30 minutes. The best part? Nobody has to know your bronzed skin secret. Unless you tell them.

Get off the couch

Yes, we are all busy doing a million things, but you need some “me time” too. There are several great health benefits of exercising from reduced stress to loss of weight. If your thighs are sticking to the couch, try easing into it. Start with a walk during lunch or a short run on the elliptical at the gym. Baby steps.  You don't have to run a marathon your first time out.

Get a massage

Who doesn’t love a massage? According to a recent article by WebMD.com, massages can help with everything from anxiety to headaches and back pain. Who does this help with summer skincare?  Why don't you book one and find out?

Summer can create a lot of anxiety and stress over trying to look your best. But, take care of yourself. No need to overdo it. Keep it simple and have some fun doing it.
