How it works

Knowing how hair removal works is half of the battle, so we are going to look at some of the technologies out there to get rid of hair. Most importantly you need to understand the basics of what these technologies can do.

Hair grows from a bulb of stem cells in your skin. It also grows at different phases which is why you need repeated treatments to get rid of unwanted hair. While it’s not important to be an expert, it’s good to be educated so you can make the right decision. There are three different phases to hair growth:

  • Anagen phase: this is when the hair is active and growing. This lasts about 3-5 years
  • Catagen phase: this phase lasts a couple of weeks and is when your hair is getting ready to shed
  • Telogen phase: this is the phase in which hair follicles rest; it can last up to 4 months

In our next post, we will cover the 3 best ways to get rid of hair and they are worth knowing!!!
