Beauty Secrets from the Celebs

Posted by Dan Narsete on

What is something most celebrities have in common?  They take really good care of their skin and are experts and cheating the aging process. If you think Kelly Ripa, Christie Brinkley or Jane Fonda aren’t using multiple skincare products, lasers, injectables, you will be very surprised. Some even get plastic surgery. Lucky for you we know their secrets and are happy to share them with you. Here’s a crash course in how to cheat aging.

#1 Celebrities use lasers

Lasers, radio-frequency, ultra-sound and microneedling are three hot items in the aesthetic world. With low downtimes and effective ways to reproduce collagen these are a great way to turn back the clock without anyone knowing about it. But, it’s nothing to be ashamed over. Recently, supermodel Christie Brinkley signed an agreement with Ultherapy to be a spokesperson for it. Even Molly Simms represents Coolsculpting and Jennifer Aniston has admitted using lasers.

They use Botox

As we age, our skin begins to become lax and our facial muscles begin to retain a “memory” to them. Regardless of how many lasers you do, they will only effect skin. Not muscle. So, to relax muscle memory (the other component of wrinkles) you will need to use a neuro-modulator. Botox, Disport and Xeomin are all forms of neuro-modulators. The idea is that they temporarily interrupt signals from your brain to tell certain muscles to move. Though it might sound scary, Courtney Cox, Brooke Shields, Robin Wright and Kelly Ripa have all admitted to using Botox.

Medical grade skincare

What do Crissy Teigan, Olivia Wilde, the Kardashians and Cindy Crawford all have in common? They use specific skincare products. Retinol, Vitamin C Serums and moisturizers are all part of the program. Of interest is retinol, which as a derivative of vitamin A, helps your skin to turnover and produce new collagen. It has been used for decades and has a strong clinical backing to it- no wonder celebs use it!

Celebrities use sunscreen

The sun is not our friend when it comes to aging. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation “90% of visible aging is caused by the sun.” Though it might be fun to bathe in the sun, celebrities tend not to do it. Jessica Alba once talked about advice her mother gave her and how sunscreen is part of that talk. Longtime actress Nicole Kidman has openly talked about wearing sunscreen and staying out of the sun.

Believe it or not they get plastic surgery

We all want to cheat the clock. And, it doesn’t matter what age you are right now- you are currently aging. The sun, gravity and even our own genetic time clock is ticking. While lasers and injectables are great some people choose to hit the proverbial “fast forward button.” We all know Pamela Anderson has had plastic surgery, but did you realize Anna Faris, Lisa Kudrow and even Jane Fonda have had plastic surgery? And, at age 80, Jane Fonda doesn’t look like a day past 50. Just sayin.’

Ultimately, wanting to look better isn’t a bad thing. Thinking that movie stars and models don’t cheat the clock is just wishful thinking. They are normal people too and age just like everyone else.
