5 Back to School Skincare Tips

“I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught” –Winston Churchill

Long summer days are starting to come to an end and families are getting ready to send their kids back to school. To help you with this process, we came up with a quick list to help you look fantastic for fall’s return.

#5 Stick with your regimen

Just because your daily activities are changing doesn’t mean you need to change your skin regimen. A tailored cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen is a must-have as a part of maintaining your skin health and keeping it looking it’s best!

#4 Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Depending on what part of the country you live in, the fall can be the dry season which means moisturizers are your new best friend!  No one wants that dull, flaky skin that results from not using a solid moisturizer, so invest in a quality, medical-grade moisturizer is worth every penny. Some of our favorites are Renewal Facial Cream and Renewal Lite Facial Lotion both by Epionce- both are amazing!

#3 Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

Our skin needs enough water to prevent dryness and maintain it’s radiant appearance. The problem is that many people do not drink nearly enough water. Did you know that by the time you are thirsty you are already dehydrated? Combat this by buying a Nalgene bottle and filling it up. Put it in the car and take a couple of sips of it throughout the day. Your skin will thank you.

#2 Consider increasing your serums

Since you will most likely be seeing less sun in the fall, it’s not a bad time to think about increasing your serums. Since you will see less sun exposure you can get away with adding retinols or other collagen generating serums to your regimen. Retinols help with cellular turnover, which is good for new skin.  Tip: Since retinols increase sun sensitivity make sure you only use them at night because .

#1 Eat better

The old saying “you are what you eat” is very accurate. If you put bad things into your body, no amount of skincare can fix that. Yes, we all have our moments of weakness on vacations, summer barbeques, and patio happy hours. But now that you and your family is getting back into more of a routine, it’s a great time to think about eating healthy again. Tip: find a local nutritionist to help you with easy, affordable food choices for you and your family. You won’t be disappointed and might find it cheaper than a trip to your local favorite fast food place.
